Please join me for my Roundtable discussion:

"Beauty, Brains, Courage, & Love: Reclaim Your Womb (and Save the Planet!)"

Female monthly cycles, pregnancy, birthing, population-overseeing (too many mouths to feed or not enough members to sustain the village) used to be the indisputable domain of women.

In the United States, midwifery was overthrown by the medical profession in the mid-1800s, denying women the circle of sisterhood needed to manage their reproductive bodies. Feeling isolated---forcing us to deal with our reproductive issues privately, our monthly cycle has become an embarrassing and taboo subject and we've lost our connection to our natural physical and mental rhythms (and therefore our feminine power core). Our wombs, innate knowledge, good judgment, and equality continue to be hoisted onto the auction block at every election or change of politicians and judges---an ongoing insidious and strangely perverted form of buying and selling women on the grandest, global scale.

Women suffer in mind, body, and spirit when they are denied the resources they are telling the world they need. When women suffer, men and children suffer---the world becomes malnourished.

When, as a society, we do not approve of, or allow women to be in charge of what makes them female, we de-feminize our global community.

Reclaim Your Womb (and Save the Planet!). Men can help by protecting our sovereignty (be our heroes!), rather than dominating. Join me in a discussion on this topic at the Women's Festivals in Santa Barbara, on March 5, 2011.
